Celebrity Panic Attacks appear to be quite common according to the research I've done. And there seems to be one thing (in my opinion) that appears to be common with all people who have had panic attacks.
There are a lot of people out there just like them.
In fact, people from all walks of life have had panic attacks, including some of the most famous people in the world.
Celebrities are no exception. There have been famous leaders, musicians, artists, and politicians who have experienced panic attacks and anxiety.
Among some of the recent famous performers that fall into this category are Drew Barrymore, Kim Basinger, and Clay Aiken, to name a few.
Additional famous people of great importance who are reported to have experienced the symptoms of panic and anxiety include Sir Issac Newton, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill.
I had a couple of interesting thoughts when it came to celebrity panic attacks.
The first was that if a person who has a much more demanding and stressful job and lifestyle than I do could learn to cope with panic attacks, then I could probably learn to cope as well.
I have a challenging and rewarding career, but I bet that someone like Nicole Kidman has a tougher job than I do -- at the very least in terms of stress and pressure. And she has had panic attacks, right on the red carpet at times no less!
At times I had wondered if I should stop working in order to help get rid of my panic attacks. My doctor told me a definite no, that by taking an action such as that, or by avoiding things in my life, the panic attacks would just get worse.
I remember watching "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and having a friend tell me that Meredith Vieira had experienced panic attacks and had a really challenging time with them.
I was shocked. She looked so confident. Relaxed. Like she was having a great time.
Yet I later read that she had panic attacks for years, and that they were acute enough at times that she won't drive over bridges.
My own take on it is, if a person who is the host of the Today show can suffer from panic attacks, and still be the host of the Today show, than that ought to provide some hope to all of us who have ever experienced a panic attack, and inspire people to seek the treatment they need through talking to their doctor.
