Easy Relaxation Techniques

What are some easy relaxation techniques?

What do you do when you're busy and you feel a little stressed out or tense?

While it's important to regularly set aside time each day to practice relaxation techniques, it's equally important to know some techniques that can be used easily and quickly at any time or place.

For instance, what if you're at the office? Or what if you're at home but are really busy?

Discover a proven solution for overcoming panic attacks

In those scenarios you need something that you can use quickly and easily to relax.

Here are a few easy relaxation techniques:

Take a deep breath. As simple as that sounds, a good deep breath can do wonders in creating a state of relaxation.

Think of something funny. Thinking of a memory that is humorous can be an excellent way to relax.

Say an affirmation. Tell yourself something (silently, inside your own head if you're out with people!) like "I am relaxed", and then take a deep breath.

Do a quick upper body stretch. Reach your arms up high, and take a deep breath, then lower your arms (think of how a cat stretches when waking up.).

Take 5. Taking a five minute break, and just sitting down and doing nothing can be incredibly effective. It doesn't have to be for long either. A quick break can refresh you and help reduce stress and anxiety.

Tell yourself that it's easy and fun. If you're working or in the middle of an activity, it can be helpful to change your perspective from one of 'work' to one of 'fun'. The quality of work should not change, in fact the quality might improve! This can definitely help with stress management.

Talk to a friend or a loved one. Talking about something fun and light-hearted can be very relaxing and energizing at the same time.

These are a few tips that I find are both easy and enjoyable. I find they help me in my life to reduce stress and anxiety.
