Panic Attacks During Exercise
Have you ever had panic attacks during exercise?
If you have, it has likely not been a very pleasant experience.
Personally, when I first started having panic attacks, I had quite a few of them during exercise.
In my case, it was usually triggered by me noticing a feeling or sensation that I might not have normally paid attention to. Often times that would be enough to trigger a panic attack.
Typically the most common form of exercise that triggered a panic attack for myself was intense cardiovascular exercise.

What can you do to help ensure you have a positive experience during exercise?
Think Rationally. Thinking clearly and rationally can make you feel calm and focused, and help you to enjoy the exercise instead of beginning to think anxious thoughts.
Learn how to be able to determine when you're having a panic attack. Thinking rationally and being able to determine when you're having a panic attack can be immensely helpful. The only way to be able to do so is to talk to your doctor about your exercise program (or health in general) and determine what activities are safe for you. Talk to your doctor and ask him/her about when you should seek medical attention during exercise -- and see what they recommend if you have a panic attack while you're exercising.
Think positive Thinking positive is a great way to have a positive experience during exercise.
Pace yourself. Exercising at the right pace can help you have a better and positive exercise experience -- without overdoing it.
Use distraction. Talk to a friend about a light-hearted, easy going, and fun topic while exercising.
I remember so many different scenarios where I had a panic attack while exercising. What helped me the most was talking to my doctor about my exercise regimen, any new exercises I was planning on trying. I asked about things such as if and when a person would want to seek medical attention, and what pace I should work with. I also looked for my doctor's advice on the types of exercise(s) that I should focus on.
