Slow Process
I have been dealing with anxiety for quite a few years now. When it first started, i was unaware of what was actually happening (this was in elementary school). Now that i am a college student, i full understand what i am experiencing on a day to day basis. It is definitely a disorder. I try and hide the fact that i am a constantly nervous person, which ultimately may make things worse because i'm worrying about what other people think. I've been researching way on how to cope with anxiety and how to prevent it. From my own personal experience, cutting out caffeine was a major one. Breathing techniques never worked as well for me. I try to think positive and remind myself that it's only anxiety, it's completely normal, i've read through all the symptoms and it's exactly what i'm experiencing so there is no need to worry, it's completely NORMAL. I still feel as if i could come to a breaking point and completely break down, which i do tend to worry about a lot and more as i'm having anxiety. I feel like it's constantly lingering over me just waiting to spark that intense feeling of fear. It sucks to say the least, i just want to be a normal 19 year old college girl. I guess my whole point is that you're not alone. You're not the only one feeling this way. You're not crazy either. We all have our weaknesses and this just happens to be ours. For whoever is reading this, don't let it get the best of you! Life is great, realize that. "We have two choices: sit back and get beaten up or roll up our sleeves and fight." As corny as it sounds, fight the anxiety! I hope that someone out there can take something from this. We can overcome this (including myself!)
